From winter to summertime. And back...

It happens every year: in the last weekend of March we turn the clock forward one hour and switch to summer time. In the last weekend of October we return to winter time and the clock goes back one hour. Your wristwatch must therefore be set correctly twice a year.

With automatic watches (via movement) or manually wound watches it is important that you always turn the hands forward, never backward. And if you need to adjust the date, it is better not to do this between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. For example, set the hands to 6 o'clock, then change the date and then set the time correctly again. All this to avoid disrupting the sensitive mechanism and damaging the radar mechanism.

Now how do you set the time correctly?

- The hands of the watch are set correctly using the crown. You pull this out to the second click, after which the watch will stop working.
! Be careful if your watch has a screw-down crown. You must first carefully unscrew it (you will feel the crown 'spring' open), then you can pull the crown out to the second click.
- You turn the crown clockwise to move the hands to the desired hour.
- Then you click the crown closed. Don't forget to carefully close a screw-down crown again.

And what about the date?

- You can also set a date indication using the crown. You pull it out to the first click, after which you can adjust the date.
- Screw-down crowns must also be unscrewed first and then closed again afterwards. And make sure that you set the hands to 6 o'clock before changing the date.

Are you still in doubt? Do you have a watch with multiple complications? Are you unable to make the adjustment yourself?
